Quick Silver Systems Expands Telematics Data Integration for Personal Auto Underwriting in the Mercury Platform
Quick Silver Systems, Inc. announced expanded telematics data integration inside the Mercury Policy and Claims Administration System to support personal auto underwriting and usage-based insurance (UBI) programs.
Personal auto carriers running Mercury can ingest driver behavior signals — mileage, hard braking, speeding events, time-of-day exposure — through the platform's API layer. Those signals are available to Mercury's rating engine and underwriter worklists, and can be used at new business and renewal to adjust pricing within the carrier's filed rating plan.
The telematics integration uses Mercury's standard API contracts, which means carriers can connect with the telematics provider of their choice rather than being locked into a single data source. The underwriter screen shows the source, the score, and the time window used, keeping the decision explainable at the file level.
"Telematics is no longer experimental in personal auto," said Sean Pitcher, CEO of Quick Silver Systems. "Our clients needed a way to plug driver behavior data into rating and renewal without a custom build every time. That is what the Mercury telematics integration delivers."
