Mercury Platform Extends NLP-Driven Document Processing to Support Paperless Policy and Claims Operations

Quick Silver Systems, Inc. announced extended natural language processing (NLP) support for document handling in the Mercury Policy and Claims Administration System, continuing the platform's push toward paperless operations.

Inbound documents and emails that arrive at a client's service address can be routed through Mercury's NLP classification. The platform examines the content to identify the likely policy or claim it relates to and attaches the document to that record with the correct document type, pending human review where the confidence is low.

Document imaging and the underlying content store are part of the core Mercury Platform, not a bolt-on. Classified documents become searchable alongside everything else in the file, and the same pipeline supports policy documents, claim correspondence, ACORD forms, and general service email.

"The cost of a manually filed email adds up fast across a service operation," said Sean Pitcher, CEO of Quick Silver Systems. "NLP classification is not about replacing the service team — it is about getting the document onto the right file so the team can actually work."
