Radical Simplicity

The average personal lines policy document runs to dozens of pages of language that most policyholders will never read until they file a claim. At that point, complexity becomes a liability for everyone.

Coverage disputes driven by ambiguous policy language cost carriers in litigation, reputation, and regulator attention. Simplifying language is not just good UX; it is a risk management move.

Commercial lines has an even greater challenge. As risk complexity grows, the temptation is to add endorsements and carve-outs rather than rethink the base form. The result is policies that even experienced brokers struggle to explain.

A handful of carriers are experimenting with plain-language rewrites and layered disclosure models, where the core coverage is stated simply and the detailed conditions are accessible on demand. Early results on satisfaction and dispute rates are encouraging.

Radical Simplicity

Simpler products are not dumbed-down products. They are products designed with respect for the customer's time and intelligence. That is a differentiator.
