Cost pressure is only part of the story. Cloud-native policy administration and claims platforms offer something on-premise systems rarely deliver: the ability to release new product configurations, rating algorithms, and compliance updates in days rather than quarters.
Carriers that completed cloud migrations in 2023 and 2024 are now reporting meaningful improvements in system uptime and a reduction in the IT headcount dedicated to infrastructure maintenance.
The holdouts tend to cite data security and regulatory residency concerns -- valid issues that cloud providers and insurers are working through with increasingly mature compliance frameworks.
