Core Specialty Expands Aviation Empire: Strategic LAU Acquisition Creates 18th Specialty Division 🛩️

Core Specialty Insurance Holdings is strengthening its market position with the strategic acquisition of London Aviation Underwriters (LAU), marking its 18th specialty business unit.

The deal, set to close in early 2025, brings LAU's impressive $56 million premium portfolio under Core Specialty's wing. Jeff Sutton, LAU's current president with over 36 years of aviation expertise and a commercial pilot background, will lead the new Aviation & Aerospace Division.

This acquisition aligns perfectly with Core Specialty's vision of becoming the leading specialty insurer, leveraging LAU's industry knowledge and Core's robust capital strength. The seamless integration has already begun, with LAU employees joining Core Specialty as of January 1, 2025, while maintaining the trusted LAU brand under StarStone National Insurance Co.
