One-Click CAT Classification

When a catastrophe lands, the difference between a clean book and a reconstruction project is whether your claims platform can tag the affected losses while the event is still happening -- not after.

Mercury was built with a single-click catastrophe classification flow at the claim level. A claims supervisor selects an active CAT event from a registered list, applies it to the relevant claims with one click, and every downstream process inherits the tag automatically. Reserves get bucketed correctly. Reinsurance ceding flags are set. Internal reporting and regulator-facing reports filter on the same code without anyone re-keying it.

That last part is the quiet point. Without one-click classification at the system of record, CAT tagging tends to live in spreadsheets, emails, and tribal memory. Two weeks later, when a reinsurer asks how many claims belong to a named event, somebody is rebuilding the answer from scratch. With Mercury the answer is a query against the same data the adjusters have been working in all along.

The benefit is not just speed. It is integrity of the record while the event is hot.
