Holiday Strategic Reflection

The stretch between Thanksgiving and the New Year is one of the most underused strategic windows in the business calendar. Decision velocity slows, fewer urgent requests arrive, and there is actually space to think clearly about where things are going.

The most productive use of that mental space is not tactical planning. It is the kind of first-principles examination that rarely happens during normal operational tempo: Are we pursuing the right strategic priorities, or are we optimizing for the wrong outcomes? What assumptions are we making that we have not tested recently? What would we do differently if we were starting from scratch?

Those questions are uncomfortable in proportion to how useful they are. The ones that make you slightly uneasy are usually the ones worth sitting with longest.

Come January, the operational cadence resumes and the space for this kind of reflection compresses. Use the window while it is available.

Give yourself permission to think strategically during the holiday quiet. The clarity you gain will compound through the year ahead.
